Digital Surveying and Point Cloud Modelling
The latest phased laser scanning technology is able to quickly and very accurately capture exact dimensions of a site or piece of equipment. From complex piping runs to an economiser or complete industrial site, the live environment can be captured through this extremely rapid and unintrusive process with minimal disruption to on-site work, preventing the need for a costly shut-down.
From this data it is then possible to create elevations, 3D renders and even complete 'virtual walk-through environments'. It is then possible to make modifications to the existing 'virtual environment' or insert objects including people or even new plant and equipment into the 'virtual environment'. This allows us to check for spatial conflicts, the feasability of on-site assembly or assess the most effective routes for installation or removal of equipment. It is even possible to make a 'virtual' assessment of the health and safety paramaters of stairs, walkways and overhead equipment by introducing a'virtual person' and 'walking' around the surveyed environment.
From site survey to the planning of plant layout and equipment assembly order, Digital Surveying and 'virtual environment' modelling is a huge leap forward in the accuracy and efficiency of project design and management.
