Directions From the M1

Leave the M1 at junction 40 and exit the roundabout onto the A638 (signposted Dewsbury/Ossett).

Travel along the dual carriageway A638 for approximately 1.7 miles and the cross the roundabout 2nd exit continuing on the A638 (signposted Dewsbury).

Continue for another 1.5 miles on the Wakefield Road - A638 and after dropping down the hill into Dewsbury go straight through the next 3 sets of traffic lights (signposted Ring Road, Bradford, Halifax). 

Approaching the next set of lights and get into the middle of three lanes and turn right onto the A638 (signposted Halifax, Heckmondwike).

Continue on the A638 for a further 2.3 miles climbing the hill past Dewsbury College and then Dewsbury Hospital before you start to descend the hill passing the Upper Independent Chapel on your right.

Shortly after this you will arrive at the main traffic lights in Heckmondwike town centre facing an ornamental clock and fountain in the market place, turn left here and travel for 0.4 miles where you will see the sign for A&J on your right hand side.
 
Directions From the M62

Leave the M62 at junction 25 and exit the roundabout onto the A644 (signposted Dewsbury/Mirfield).

After 1.6 miles at the Cooper Bridge roundabout take the fist exit onto the A62 for 0.2 miles (signposted Leeds).

At the traffic lights bear right onto the A644, travel along this road for about 3.75miles passing through Mirfield and various traffic lights and junctions until you reach a fire station on the right hand side.

Shortly after the fire station turn left onto Temple Road B6117 (signposted Heckmondwike). At the top of Temple Road turn left at the T junction onto Cemetery Road.

After 1.5 miles A&J are on the left hand side.

 

About Heckmondwike

A&J Fabtech is located in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire and though many people may not have heard of this little town in the Spen Valley most will be familiar with the World famous method of teaching music, the tonic sol-fa which was developed by John Curwen, one of Heckmondwikes “famous sons”.

Another famous local son is the scientist Joseph Priestley who discovered oxygen and wrote part of the American constitution. Joesph spent his childhood years at The Old Hall in Heckmondwike.

Heckmondwike also claims to have been the first to decorate with Christmas lights and was the inspiration for Blackpool’s famous illuminations.
